Privacy policy

Pencilslip is operated by Gambit Applications LLC ("we", "us"). This policy covers this website and its waitlist.

What we collect

When you join the waitlist we store your email address, the time you signed up, which page you signed up from, and a random confirmation code. Later we also store when we sent your confirmation email and when you confirmed or unsubscribed. The form collects nothing else.

To stop abuse, our server holds your IP address in memory for up to an hour to limit repeated sign-ups. We don't save it with your signup, and our web server doesn't keep access logs of visitors' IP addresses. We don't use cookies, analytics, or advertising trackers.

How we use it

We use it to send you one email asking you to confirm. If you confirm, we'll email you about Pencilslip's launch and founding access. Every email has an unsubscribe link. If you never confirm, we won't email you again.

Where it's stored and who we share it with

Signups are stored in a database on our own server, which we rent from Hostinger. We send email through Brevo, an email delivery service, and share your email address with it only to deliver our messages. Like most email services, Brevo may record whether our emails were delivered, opened, or had a link clicked; we use that only to check that our emails are getting through. Mail you send to us is handled by Hostinger's email service. We don't sell or rent your information, and otherwise we share data only when the law requires it.

How long we keep it

We keep your signup until you ask us to delete it or we stop working on Pencilslip. If you don't confirm within 60 days of our confirmation email, we delete your signup automatically. If you unsubscribe, we keep your address and the date only so we never email you again; ask us and we'll delete that too.

Your choices

You can unsubscribe at any time, and you can ask us to see, correct, or delete your data. California residents have rights under the CCPA, and people in the EU and UK have rights under the GDPR, including access, correction, deletion, and objection. We'll respond within 30 days.
