How to export your Joist data

Whatever app you move to, download your records first. This guide follows Joist's own help center articles (checked October 2026). Menus can change, so check Joist's help center if something looks different.

Do this before you cancel. Joist's help articles don't say whether exports still work on a cancelled account, and some users report losing access to records after cancelling.

1. Clients list

On the Joist web app (pro.joistapp.com), open Clients, click the three-dots menu, and choose Export. You get a CSV file.

2. Items (your price list)

Open Items, click the same three-dots menu, and choose Export.

3. Invoices and estimates

From the web app you can export invoices and estimates as CSV, one month per file. Per Joist's help center, the columns are: number, client name, subtotal, tax, total, date issued, date created, and payment received less refunds.

Line items are not included in this export, so save PDFs of any invoices you need in full.

4. Reports

Reports can be downloaded as CSV for data after September 1, 2022, filtered by date and client.
