Free handyman estimate template
A fill-in estimate for handyman work: small repairs, installs, and punch lists. Type it in on this page, then print it or save it as a PDF to send. The gray hints in each line are only suggestions and don't print.
Nothing leaves your device. Everything you type into the estimate stays in this browser tab. It isn't uploaded, saved, or sent anywhere, so refreshing or closing the page clears it. Save as PDF before you close it.
Handyman estimates are mostly small jobs on one sheet
A handyman visit is often five or six small tasks at one address, so the estimate has to make each one clear on its own. A few habits help:
- One line per task. "Replace kitchen faucet (customer-supplied)" and "Patch drywall hole, about 6 in., hall closet" on separate lines let the customer drop one task without asking you to re-quote the rest.
- Say who supplies the parts. Note on each line whether materials are included or the customer is buying them. Leaving it unsaid is an easy way to end up arguing over the bill.
- Flat price or hourly, and say which. If a task is hourly, put the rate and your best estimate of hours, and say in the notes that the final bill follows actual time.
- Trip or minimum charge. If you charge one, put it on its own line so it isn't hidden inside a task price.
- What happens if you find more. Rotten wood behind trim or a corroded shutoff valve changes the job. Say you'll stop and price any extra work before doing it.
- Valid-until date and payment terms. How long the price holds, any deposit, and how you take payment.
For the longer walk-through (scope wording, exclusions, change orders, sign-off), see how to write a contractor estimate.
This is a general template, not legal or tax advice. Rules on contracts, deposits, sales tax, and which jobs a handyman can do without a contractor license vary by state, so check what applies to you.
